Christmas Visit to Concordia

Last December 29, 2010, my friends and I went back to Concordia Children’s Services to visit the babies.  I only planned to visit, but I decided to ask for donations two days before via Facebook.  Three generous souls responded, and we filled up the back of our CRV with old clothes and toys!  Another example of social good in action right there.

They now have a sign!

Naomi, Joshua, Ken, Bianca and Rosalinda from our last visit were still there. It was bittersweet seeing them again – on one hand we ‘knew’ them already but on the other hand, they were still waiting to be adopted.  There  were new babies (one was 1 month old!) but they were sleeping when we arrived.

Except for Bianca, they were all crying when we put them back in their cribs. They really crave being touched, carried, and loved. It was heartbreaking to leave them.   I promised myself that I will visit often, and I’ll let you guys know when so we can go together.  :)

One Response to Christmas Visit to Concordia

  1. Natalie says:

Hi, I am so thankful to all of those who have donated time, care and gifts to the children in Concordia as just prior to Christmas we were given the wonderful news that we have waited 4 1/2 years to here. We have a son and he currently lives in Concordia. They have loved and cared for him all of his life.
    So thank-you so much,
    Natalie
